Omer Y. Ozusta is an associate attorney at SmolenPlevy in Vienna, Virginia. He earned his B.A. in Government/Political Science from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and his J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, in Washington, D.C.
Omer’s practice is focused on estate and gift tax planning, as well as asset protection strategies, including drafting, reviewing, and analyzing estate-planning documents. He has experience with multijurisdictional estate and trust administration.
Prior to joining SmolenPlevy, Omer was an Attorney and Tax & Accounting/Legal Editor at Bloomberg Industry Group (and its predecessor BNA) in Arlington, Virginia. He also practiced briefly with smaller area law practices early in his career, working on civil litigation matters.
During law school, Omer interned with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Market Regulation, in Washington, D.C.
A lifelong resident of Fairfax County, Virginia, Omer enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, visiting the many parks the county has to offer. He is fluent in Turkish.
